Brown Plus Raises $3,000 to Benefit the United Way of the Capital Region

Regional premier advisory firm, Brown Plus, is proud to have raised $3,000 to benefit the United Way of the Capital Region through its 2023 Cornhole Tournament.

The tournament was held on Friday, September 22, at Brown Plus’ Camp Hill office. Twenty-six teams comprised of 52 players and 17 spectators participated in the outdoor cornhole event.

“We are delighted to have raised $3,000 in support of the essential community programs and services offered by the United Way of the Capital Region,” said Ken Wolfe, President and Managing Principal at Brown Plus. “Our annual fundraising event for the United Way has consistently proven to be a fun and successful avenue by which we can support those in need in our community, while also connecting with our valued clients, dedicated team members and steadfast community partners.”

Organizations participated in the Brown Plus Cornhole Tournament by making donations to register players, register spectators or sponsor the event. Brown Plus covered the cost for Rubbin’ Meats Backyard BBQ food truck to provide food to participants on-site.

The success of this year’s cornhole tournament would not have been possible without the generosity of the 15 organizations and individuals who sponsored the event. Those sponsors include 44 Business Capital; Ainsworth; the Brown Plus Marketing Team; Brown Plus Transitions; Clelan and Company; Edwin L. Heim Company; Englewood Brewery; the Esworthy Family; Gunn-Mowery LLC; Hershey’s Ice Cream; Ken Wolfe; Lighthouse Wealth Management; Mellow Mink Brewing Company; North Group Consultants; and Schmidt Kramer PC.

The mission of the United Way of the Capital Region is to move Dauphin, Cumberland and Perry County families forward by empowering their independence through access to health care, school readiness, workforce development and basic needs programs.

Brown Plus has been hosting annual community fundraising events to benefit the United Way of the Capital Region for over 10 years. The Firm has held workplace giving campaigns to support the United Way annually since its inception in 1990.
