Brown Plus Welcomes Kimberly Cashman as Audit Principal

Leading accounting and advisory firm, Brown Plus, is pleased to announce that it has welcomed Kimberly Cashman, CPA, as an Audit Principal within the Firm’s Insurance Practice.

Kim brings more than 20 years of experience delivering accounting, audit and financial reporting leadership. She began her career in public accounting serving property and casualty (P&C) insurance clients, giving her a strong foundation in statutory accounting, audit requirements and regulatory expectations. Throughout her career, Kim has partnered closely with executive leadership, boards and external auditors, leading accounting and financial reporting teams. Her experience includes overseeing Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting and compliance, resolving complex technical accounting matters under United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), strengthening financial and IT internal control frameworks and supporting major transactions and strategic initiatives – including a successful Initial Public Offering (IPO).

Kim’s insurance industry experience, combined with her nearly two decades of broader financial leadership, offers clients the advantage of an advisor who understands both the technical demands of accounting and the realities of operating a modern finance function.

“I’m excited to join Brown Plus and be part of a firm with such a strong and growing insurance practice,” said Kim. “I started my career working with insurance clients, and bringing that experience together with nearly two decades of broader accounting and financial leadership feels like a natural fit. I look forward to partnering with Brown Plus insurance clients nationwide and serving as a trusted partner to support their long-term success.”

Kim joins the Firm’s skillful Insurance Practice leadership team, which includes Scott Esworthy, CPA, Audit Principal; Hank Straub, CPA, Audit Principal; and Matt Harvey, CPA, MSPA, Tax Principal.

The Brown Plus Insurance Practice provides a full range of audit, tax and advisory services to insurance companies across the United States. Brown Plus was recently ranked the 21st largest audit firm in the U.S. on AM Best’s list of the Top Audit and Actuarial Firms – 2025 Edition, based upon the loss reserves of property and casualty insurance clients served. According to the total number of property and casualty insurance clients served, Brown Plus is ranked the 8th largest audit firm in the country.

“We are pleased to welcome Kim to the Brown Plus Insurance Practice,” said Ken Wolfe, CPA, CGMA, President and Managing Principal at Brown Plus. “Her deep experience in the insurance industry and strong background in accounting and auditing make her a tremendous asset to our clients and our team. As our insurance practice continues to grow nationwide, adding this level of expertise and bench strength enhances our ability to deliver exceptional service and support to our insurance clients.”

Kim is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA). She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Shippensburg University.
